Interesting historical facts for the Horry County Parks and Recreation
Department
- From the late 1970's to 1985, the County Recreation
Department built facilities and turned them over to the
community. The Director of the Recreation Department at that time was Danny
Knight, the present County Administrator
- The current Horry County Parks and Recreation was established in November 1997
- Horry County Parks and Recreation has 30 parks and 31 boat landings throughout
Horry County
