Seniors
The Horry County Parks and Recreation Department provides opportunities
for the senior citizens of Horry County and surrounding Counties to travel,
to fellowship and to experience a wide variety of programs and cultural events.
Senior Suppers are just one of the many ways our Seniors get together
for fun and fellowship. Senior Suppers are monthly get-togethers for individuals
ages 50 and over that are held throughout the County. Some of the annual Senior
Suppers events include a Pig Pickin', an Oyster Roast, and a Summer Picnic/Luau.
Senior Suppers locations change monthly, and occasionally are lunch-time events.
Horry County Parks and Recreation also host low-cost trips throughout the
year. We offer Day Trips, as well as Overnight Trips. Trips include a Surprise
Day Trip, an Evening Trip to Myrtle Beach to see the Bristol, Virginia Senior Show
Choir, a Surprise Christmas Trip, a Spring Trip to Savannah, Georgia and much more.
Horry County Parks and Recreation also co-sponsors Special Events with the
Horry County Council on Aging. Special Events include the Old Home Place Gospel
Show in Green Sea, the Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Atrium of the Horry County
Government and Justice Center and a Senior Valentine Dance at Doodles Restaurant.
We constantly strive to provide more quality programs for our senior
population at affordable prices. If you are interested in any of our programs,

Newly scheduled trips and special events are being added to the calendar
